Autism changes a family forever. When a child is diagnosed with Autism, his or her parents suddenly face the reality that they need to reshape their hopes and dreams to fit into a new reality. This is particularly difficult because the Autism spectrum is so broad and, there is no “one size fits all” approach. Families feel vulnerable, and often bewildered as they try to figure out the best path for their child’s future. And as the years go by, Autistic children eventually become Autistic adults. More issues surface, like finding meaningful work and managing to live independently.

The Autism Zones main goal is to help families cope with an Autistic family member. Our advice is practical; it is feasible; and it is authentic for one simple reason – we have walked the walk. There are many organizations supporting research to find a cure for Autism – but we have chosen to use the donations we receive to help those who are already ‘down in the trenches.’

Your donation will allow us to continue – and increase – our ability to offer families affected by Autism a reason for hope.

We go where the need is. One of our first projects was to provide better furniture for a group home that was in dire need of decent sofas and chairs. It was a small, but outstandingly successful effort. We also plan to develop a network of attorneys to be on ‘standby’ to answer questions from autistic parents regarding situations that their children might find themselves in during everyday activities. Autistic children and teens are not retarded, as they are sometimes perceived. In fact many of them are quite brilliant, but the intensity of focus with which they approach life, can sometimes lead to trouble.  And of course we have operational needs and have plans to enhance our website, secure additional licenses, and purchase some property for used car donations.

For your convenience, we have set up a PayPal account for online donations. Please also download the IRS notice below to confirm your eligibility for a tax deduction in accordance with IRS regulations.
